Cranberry Farming Procedure

Cranberry farming begins with the careful selection of suitable land, typically low-lying areas with sandy soil that can retain water. Once the fields are prepared, farmers plant young cranberry vines, ensuring they are spaced adequately for growth and airflow. During the growing season, the fields are carefully managed, involving regular irrigation, pest control, and weed management to promote healthy vines. Finally, the harvesting process takes place in the fall, where fields are flooded, allowing the buoyant cranberries to rise to the surface for easy collection.
